The Major Arcana Temperance from the Tarot represents harmony, serenity, patience, and moderation. In a traditional Tarot deck, the Temperance card features an angelic figure pouring liquid from one cup to another. This represents the process of alchemy or transformation from one thing to another.

I chose to show a lady with a unicorn, representing purity and harmony. She’s reaching out and offering her spirit of friendship to the mythical creature, who has an otherworldly quality. Wings suggest her divine nature. There is a sense of profound peace.

Astrologically, Temperance has strong links with Sagittarius, the masculine and fire sign, so the lady is wearing a red skirt. The forest background represents the earth or the natural realm.
